"Madam are you full or should I leave the dishes on the table?" asked Alfred.
"No Thank you Alfred" said Natasha.
"I will finish my food" she said.
"And you do not have to worry yourself, when I am done I will take the dishes away myself" said Natasha.
"I am only doing my job Madam, I do not mind at all" said Alfred.
"I know that you are a very diligent person" said Natasha, the Alfred in her past life was the same as this one right here, except for the fact that he was well... older.
"And you also deserve a break just like anyone else" she said.
"So please let me do this, while you go rest" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Are you sure Madam?" asked Alfred
"Yes I am Alfred, take a break" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Well Okay Madam" said Alfred, he was shocked, this was the first time that anyone had offered to assist him in his work, he was truly warmed by her act, he was now sure that the Madam's sudden change was for good.
"Thank you" said Alfred as he smiled.
"You deserve it Alfred" said Natasha as she smiled back at him, he truly did deserve to rest, he needed to also take care of himself the same way he took care of others.
He was used to looking after others, so he should also start looking after himself, Natasha could still remember her early days when she first met Alfred, he was just like he was right now.
"Thank you Madam" said Alfred as all he could do was smile, he was sure that if he had tried to say anything else, he would end up crying.
He did not know whether he was getting too emotional due to old age, or if he had lost his toughness, either way, it was nice to know that others cared for you.
"You are welcome Alfred" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Now go, go on, and take a break" said Natasha.
"I am sure that the house won't collapse if you take a little break" said Natasha as she laughed.
"You are right Madam" said Alfred as he laughed.
"I will go now" he said as he began to walk out of the room.
"Oh and" he said as he stopped and turned to look at Natasha.
"Thank you once again" he said as he just had to say it again and Natasha smiled at him.
Once Alfred left, the smile on Natasha's face dropped, she realized that she was going to have to make sure that she ate, so she would not have to face her so called husband when he comes back early.
She laughed at herself, it was actually funny that once before she had always waited expectantly for his return and yet now she was trying so hard to avoid him.
But after what she had went through before, she was not going to pass through that again, so she felt that it was better if she kept herself away for anything or anyone who could hurt her.
Not to even talk about the fact that she did not know who killed her in her past life, as she saw it right now, it could be anyone at all, no one was to be trusted, you could never know the deepest, darkest desires of people.
She was not strong enough or trained enough to fight for herself, so she agreed that the best idea was for her to stay away from situations that she would not be able to control.
"*Sigh*, Relax Natasha, no one will ever hurt you again" said Natasha as she sighed and she tried to calm down herself.
"Not again" she said to herself.
...
"Alfred, are you going to the kitchen?" asked a steward as he met Alfred on his way to the kitchen.
"No I am going to my room" replied Alfred.
"Your room??" asked the steward as he looked shocked.
"Yes my room" replied Alfred.
"At this time?" said the steward as he just had to ask.
"Yes, the Madam gave me the day off" said Alfred, even though he knew that he was going to be back here in an hour, he could not take a break for that long, then he was sure that the house would actually collapse.
"Ahhh I see" said the steward as he sighed in relief, that made more sense, he thought that the world was ending, or Alfred was fired, and that was why he was going to his room.
It was a very weird thing for Alfred to take a break even for a second, he had to be everywhere at all times, all the staff members of the house were grateful that Alfred did not have the power of teleportation, because if he did, they would be working all day and never get a break.
"Why do you look like the world is about to end?" asked Alfred as he turned to look at Alfred.
"It's nothing Alfred, I am just relieved" said the steward.
"It was a great shock to hear you taking a break" he said
"Even if it's only for a little while" said the Steward.
As far as he knew, since he had started working here, he had never for once seen Alfred go on a vacation, or even for once take leave, or even a sick leave, if there was one person who was always constant in this house, it would be Alfred.
"I cannot refute that" said Alfred.
"Anyway, regardless of if I am taking a break or not, you all cannot slack on your duties" he said as he looked like he was warning someone in particular.
"You all must complete your tasks for today before you even think of going anywhere, am I clear?" asked Alfred.
"Yes Alfred" said the steward, he should have known that it was too good to be true for Alfred to let them slack off.
"Good, I will see you later" said Alfred as he walked away.
"Bye Alfred" said the Steward.
Meanwhile later in the day.
The sun had stopped shining as brightly as it was before, and it looked like it was getting ready to set, the time was thirty minutes past five, and Natasha was relaxing, or at least trying to, until she heard a soft knock on her door.
"Come in" she said as she looked at the door, she thought that maybe it was Joy knocking.
"Madam, I am sorry to disturb you" said Alfred as he walked in.
"Oh it's alright Alfred" said Natasha as she did not seem to mind at all.
"Madam I came to inform you that the Young Master is here" said Alfred.
"His car just pulled up in the driveway" he said and Natasha's eyes went wide, he was earlier than she thought he would be.
